Privacy Policy

In keeping with relevant privacy legislation, The Friday Group Pty Ltd has developed this Privacy Policy to allow job applicants to know how the information they give us about themselves is treated.

This policy outlines the kind of information we hold about individuals, how we may use that information, to whom we disclose it, and how you may update that information or request that it be destroyed.

As a recruitment company, our goal is to find the candidate who best “fits” each employment role we handle for our clients, for the mutual benefit of candidates and clients.

For this purpose, and with your consent, we collect from you information about how to contact you, and details about your education, employment and life history, some of which may be personal.

By using our online application process, and/or by emailing us your resume, you consent to the collection, use, and storage of your information by The Friday Group as described in this Privacy Policy.

Confidentiality

Information submitted to The Friday Group via the on-line application form on our website and in resumes and letters you email to us, or gathered during conversations, is held by The Friday Group in several forms, and is treated with utmost confidentiality.

Disclosure

Apart from discussing relevant details with prospective employers, The Friday Group does not divulge the information we hold about you to any other company, organisation or individual without your consent, unless required to do so by law.

How we treat the information we hold about you

We do not process your personal information in a way that is incompatible with what is outlined in this Privacy Policy. We use our best efforts to ensure that data is accurate, complete, current and reliable for its intended use, and to protect your information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and unintended destruction.

Verification

The recruitment process requires that the claims individuals make about their experiences and qualifications are verified. This may be done by contacting organisations such as universities and former employers, and also by contacting referees nominated by candidates. This information is also stored by The Friday Group, for the sole purpose for which it was collected, to ensure we find the best “fit” between candidates and roles, taking into account all relevant information.

Contacting you

In addition to keeping you informed of the status of your job application, we will also use your contact information from time to time, should suitable job opportunities arise, to inform you about other roles which we are filling, in order to determine your interest, if any, in applying for such roles. At this time, we may ask to update various details we hold about you.

Candidates and referees might also be contacted by The Friday Group for the purpose of helping us evaluate our services, should they wish to do so.

The Friday Group may use information it collects from you for the primary purpose for which it is collected and for such other secondary purposes that are related to the primary purpose of collection. We may use it to communicate with you, to help the Friday Group manage and enhance its services, and to provide you with up-to-date information about opportunities which might interest you, including allowing you to receive email and e-newsletters from the Friday Group, unless and until you advise us otherwise.

We do not intentionally disclose any personal information about candidates to any third parties except for the express purpose of dealing with potential employees on behalf of candidates. Nor do we sell, trade or rent our information about candidates to third parties such as telemarketers or advertisers.

Sensitive information

We do not seek to collect any sensitive information through our online application form. Sensitive information includes data relating to race or ethnic origin, trade union membership, political opinions, religious or similar beliefs, physical or mental health, sexual life, or criminal record. We suggest that you do not provide sensitive information of this nature, except when required to do so by law. If you do wish to provide sensitive information for any reason, The Friday Group accepts your explicit consent to use that information in the ways described in this Privacy Policy.

The quality and security of the information we hold

The Friday Group operates password protected data networks and management procedures designed to protect your privacy and security.

All personally identifiable information you provide to us is stored and held under generally accepted standards of technology and operational security in order to protect it from loss, misuse, alteration, or destruction.

Only authorised personnel have access to personally identifiable information, and they are required to treat this information as confidential. Despite these precautions, we cannot absolutely guarantee that any and all unauthorised access to your personally identifiable information will be prevented.

You may contact us about the information we hold about you

To access, correct, update or withdraw any information you have submitted to The Friday Group, please send a request to privacy@thefridaygroup.com.au Should a candidate request us to do so, after verifying that person's identity, we will destroy all written and electronic records of information that person has submitted to us.

We may update our privacy policy

The Friday Group reserves the right to update our Privacy Policy from time to time, in order to take into account new laws and technology and changes to our operations. If we do so, we will alert you to any such changes by updating this Privacy Policy, which you are encouraged to check on our website from time to time.
