POSITION: MANUFACTURING QUALITY CONTROLLER
PROJECT: KOGAN CREEK SOLAR BOOST PROJECT MANUFACTURING PLANT
REPORTS TO: MANUFACTURING MANAGER AUSTRALASIA
DIRECT REPORTS: NONE
LOCATION: DALBY or ENVIRONS
POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager Australasia, the Quality Control Officer is responsible for the development, implementation and management of the manufacturing quality plan. He/she must detail the inspection and test plans and develop appropriate check lists, audits work instructions and other tools to ensure that monitoring of quality performance is addressed in accordance with the agreed plan and procedures. He/she must ensure acceptance and release criteria are understood and monitored by the relevant staff and he/she must ensure that these staff are trained in accordance with the required inspections. He/she must take direct responsibility for the monitoring and reporting of specialized areas of inspection including weld quality inspection.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Experience with similar light metal frame construction
• Development and management of inwards materials verification procedures
• Review inspection and/or test data provided with incoming materials for completeness and compliance with Purchase Order requirements
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections in accordance with the requirements of the quality plan and maintain accurate records
• Prepare and track Non-Conformance reports when required
• Maintain Receiving Inspection Reports, Non-Conformance Reports, Transfer of Ownership, and other required documentation
• Defining critical in process hold point release criteria
• Process, record and reporting of audits relating to QC and QA performance
• Monitor and report against agreed key performance metrics
• Maintain and audit factory processes against procedures

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• The Quality Control Officer should have a minimum of ten years experience in a fast paced, challenging, diverse manufacturing environment
• Tertiary/Trade qualifications (boiler/welder) in an associated technical field would be a distinct advantage.
• Formal qualifications in a relevant technical discipline Trade or equivalent to (boiler maker/welder trade) bachelor degree level desirable.
• Appropriate short courses in Quality management, auditing and contractor quality management.
• Quality inspection qualifications and experience.
• Medium level experience and skill with computer based applications including MS Office software such as Excel and MS Word.
• Strong written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
